I noticed that the s2k projector is sitting further back in the headlight housing (I know this way you don't have to cut anything in the back for bulb access) but as a result the shroud and trim may be reducing the width of output ('peripheral' ). With my retro I placed emphasis on placing it as far forward as possible but had to do some trimming of the housing for bulb access. Also the pic next to the wall looks like the angle is slightly up... BTW what year is the s2k projector...looked like it has a fresnel lens.
